Hello July! Hello Summer ❤︎✨
Hello July! Hello Summer ❤︎✨

As we welcome July, we also begin the second half of the year.

The past six months have carried us through the stillness of winter, the renewal of spring, and into the warmth of summer. Like the changing seasons, we've all experienced moments of growth, challenge, joy and rest.

Just as nature moves through its own rhythm, so do we.

This natural turning point offers us an opportunity to pause.

Today, perhaps take a few moments to step outside.

Feel the warmth of the summer air on your skin.

Notice how much has quietly changed around you.

The flowers blooming in your garden.

The longer evenings stretching into golden light.

Families enjoying the beach.

Friends gathering outdoors.

Walkers following woodland trails.

The gentle hum of summer all around you.

Nature has settled into the fullness of the season.

Now, place a hand on your heart.

Feel its steady rhythm.

Take a slow, deep breath.

And ask yourself…

What do I need today?

Perhaps it's more rest.

Perhaps it's time outdoors.

Perhaps it's a quiet walk, a favourite book, or an evening spent with the people who make you feel most at home.

Or perhaps it's simply an hour to yourself, where your body can soften, your mind can settle, and you can reconnect with yourself—body, mind and soul.

So often we're busy looking after everyone else, juggling responsibilities and endless to-do lists, that our own wellbeing quietly slips further down the list.

Perhaps July is simply an invitation to bring your attention back to yourself.

Not by doing more...

But by making a little space to rest.

To breathe a little more deeply.

To reconnect.

To enjoy the simple moments that remind you of what truly matters.

One of the greatest acts of self-care is simply being present.

Not dwelling on yesterday.

Not worrying about tomorrow.

Simply appreciating where you are today.

A peaceful morning with a cup of tea or coffee.

A walk in the sunshine.

Time spent in the garden.

A favourite piece of chocolate.

Or an uninterrupted hour where nothing is expected of you.

These are often the moments that quietly restore us.

On 7th July – World Chocolate Day, why not enjoy one of life's simple pleasures? Savour your favourite chocolate, enjoy it without distraction, and allow yourself a moment of simple pleasure.

As the month unfolds, we often notice another gentle change.

When we take time to care for ourselves, we naturally have more warmth to share with others. We become more present, more patient, more generous, and more appreciative of the people who enrich our lives.

That feels especially fitting as we approach 24th July – International Self-Care Day.

Self-care isn't something we practise on just one day of the year.

It's something we choose, in small ways, every day.

As we move into the second half of the year, it's another gentle invitation to pause, reconnect and reflect on how far you've come.

Because caring for yourself isn't a luxury.

It's an essential part of living well.

To mark International Self-Care Day, I've set aside every Friday throughout July and August for Friday Self-Care Sessions.

Friday Self-Care Sessions

60-minute Full Body Swedish MassageEvery Friday throughout July & August

Massage is a gentle art of bodywork, using skilled touch to encourage the body to relax, release tension and restore balance.

Swedish massage uses slow, flowing movements that allow the body to soften naturally. By working through the muscles and surrounding soft tissues, it helps release built-up tension, improve circulation, support joint mobility and encourage easier movement.

As different areas begin to ease, the body can gradually rebalance, reducing the need for certain muscles to overcompensate for others. Breathing also plays an important role. When you consciously soften and breathe during a massage, the body is often better able to let go of tension and settle into a deeper state of relaxation.

More than easing tired muscles, massage creates space for both body and mind to unwind, helping you feel lighter, calmer and more connected with yourself.

As July draws to a close, 30th July – International Day of Friendship reminds us to celebrate the people who encourage us, support us and bring warmth into our lives.

Reach out to someone you've been meaning to call.

Meet for a coffee.

Share a walk.

Spend time together.

And while you're celebrating friendship, remember to offer that same kindness to yourself.

Treat yourself with the same patience, compassion and understanding that you so freely give to others.

Sometimes the greatest act of self-care isn't adding another task to your day.

It's making space to enjoy where you are, appreciating what you already have, and caring for yourself with the same warmth you offer the people you love.

If this letter brought you a moment of calm, perhaps there's someone in your life who would appreciate it too. Feel free to share it with a friend or loved one who could use a gentle reminder to pause, breathe and reconnect.

Here's to a July of reconnecting, restoring and making time for what truly matters.

I look forward to welcoming you to Palm Room Massage.

Warm wishes,
